Fluidity in 3D Shapes

3D Resin Printing Vase Exploration

Inspired by low poly wireframes and the fluidity of organic shapes, this duology of 3D-printed vases explores blending traditional art mediums with technology. Both vases were created in Rhino 7 by utilizing the SubD tool to make the base of the vases, and then manipulated to produce the curves and bends, turning them into organic shapes.

A wireframed version was created for the low-poly-like vase and then connected by the multipipe function. The pipe weight is 2mm throughout the vase and was printed on the resin 3D printer. Finishes of these vases include using acrylic paint, clear glossy enamel, and blackout gritty textured graffiti paint.
